How Do I Get The Most Out Of My IPHONE Battery?
First of all Apple has a webpage with general information on how to get the most out of your iPhone battery. You find it here.
If you put your iPhone in a pocket or backpack, GeoLogTag blanks the screen (to extend battery life) by using the proximity sensor.
A less known cause for draining your battery quickly is a crashed third-party app that’s still running in the background. So, restart your iPhone if your battery life seems to be too short.
During the geologging process, the only service that’s really required is ‘Location Services’. Behind the scenes ‘Location Services’ sometimes uses a technology called Wi-Fi Positioning System. This happens when no GPS signals are available (e.g. inside a building).
So the trick is to turn everything off that’s not really necessary.
Turn off Bluetooth
Turn off 3G
Turn off Pushing of new data
Fetch new data manually
Turn off Wi-Fi “Ask to Join Networks”
Turn off Wi-Fi if you are taking photos outside.
If you really want to get the last bit out of your battery, you can also remove the SIM card from your iPhone. This will also disabled cell tower location triangulation.
Note that Airplane Mode turns off all radios (including GPS).
